Physical education in Senior Three aims to reduce students' learning pressure, stimulate students' drive and help them outline the blueprint of their youth. On the morning of 10th December, 2024, teacher Wu Hanwen with the physical education group of the Senior High School Division led the students of Class 305 to attend a demonstration sports lesson - 'Throwing Solid Balls' on the playground of the east campus. Also in attendance were Assistant Principal Xu Zuitai and all the teachers of the physical education group.
First and foremost, after Wu Hanwen gathered the students on the playground, he immediately began a series of warm-up sessions: students warmed up by jogging around the playground, who performed standard and vigorous freehand gymnastics. Obviously, these warm-up activities quickly livened up the teaching atmosphere, making each student temporarily put down the inevitable fatigue of learning cultural classes, in order that they would enjoy the pleasure and relaxation brought by sports.
What's more, in the teaching process, Wu Hanwen comprehensively and deeply analyzed the basic skills of throwing solid balls, explaining everything from the correct standing posture to how to accurately control the power and rhythm of the solid balls with his fingers to how to maintain a stable balance of the body. Additionally, Wu Hanwen personally demonstrated the essentials of movement, and corrected every movement of students in details, so that each student could understand and accurately grasp the core points of these movements.
In summary, Wu Hanwen clearly grasped the learning needs and interests of Senior Three students, making them not only learn the basic skills of throwing solid balls, but also fully enabling them to experience the charm and fun of sports. Therefore, students relaxed their body and mind. Meanwhile, the activity won unanimous praise from both the teachers and students present.
